The Reformation is Proof That the Gates of Hell Will Never Prevail Against the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Roman Catholics have been bragging that the Reformation is proof that the gates of Hell can't prevail against them. The reality is the Reformation is proof that the gates of Hell can't prevail against the true Church. When Peter was told by Jesus the simple truth of Matthew 16:18-19 it really meant this. No matter what persecutions the Church will undergo it will survive. I have no reason to believe that the Roman Catholic institution is the true Church founded last 33 A.D. When Ignatius of Antioch mentioned where Jesus is there is the catholic church, he is using catholic as an adjective to mean the universal church. The Church is catholic but not Roman Catholic. Today, Christians prefer to use the word universal instead of catholic to avoid confusion with refuting Roman Catholicism.

One of the greatest events that led to the Church's tribulations is the Dark Ages. The Roman Catholic institution brags that she gave Protestants the Bible and that they should thank her for it. But there's really no reason why I should believe that the Roman Catholic institution gave us the Bible. If they gave the Bible to the world then why did they even ban it from being read? Jesus never gave any command not to let the laity read from the Scriptures. Instead, He commanded in John 5:39 to search the Scriptures. How can one search the Scriptures if the Bible is banned from the public? That is the warning Isaiah 29:11-13 says that by prohibiting people from reading the Scripture the fear of God is replaced by the fear of man.

The Dark Ages was when the Roman Catholic institution dwelt supreme by forbidding Bible reading from being open by the public. The Baptists are older than the Protestants. Historically, Baptists aren't Protestant Christians but they were already resisting the lies of Rome. There were also other groups such as the Mennonites and the Waldenses who brought copies of the Scriptures to Roman Catholics. This alone caused their deaths at the hands of the Unholy Office or the Inquisition. The Reformation was soon triggered with not only the late Martin Luther translating the Bible into German but also the death of many translators. The late William Tyndale was punished by burning at the stake. The Roman Catholic institution did everything they could to prevent the Bible from being open to the public. Various tortures were done to Bible translators. Tyndale's execution did little to stop the Bible from being translated into English. Luther's trial at the Diet of Worms did little to stop the people from reading the Bible in German.

To counter the Reformation there was the Counter-Reformation. The Jesuits were soon organized trying to stop the fire of the Reformation. The late John Calvin became known for his works such as the Geneva Study Bible which became a forerunner for the King James or Authorized Version of 1611. Calvin's movement gave birth to the Puritans and Reformed Baptist movement. Other great preachers like the late Charles H. Spurgeon and John Gill. The Church of England was inspired by Calvinist translators who helped form the AV1611 Bible. The Jesuits did everything they could to counter the Reformation but God's truth is still marching on.

It doesn't matter how Papal Rome brags that she's founded as the true Church last 33 A.D. and that the Popes are Peter's successors. Such lies can be disproved by the truth of Scripture and by historical data. The Scripture caused the great Reformation proving that God's Word is not bound. She brags Sola Scriptura is inapplicable and that's her tradition plus Scripture. She says that those who go against her ignore God's Word to follow their tradition but her actions prove otherwise. The true Church would not have carried out its mission in violence nor would it ban the Bible, teach unscriptural truths about Mary, put celibacy to priests when the Bible says otherwise (1 Timothy 3:1-7) and make their own traditions while loosely interpreting the Scriptures. Peter nowhere said he is the Vicar of Christ but the Popes have bragged themselves otherwise. She tells us to study history but only her own revised version while accusing others of revisionism.

What's hypocritical is that Roman Catholics say that nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to be born again Christians. Yet Acts 11:26 says that the disciples were first called Christians and not Catholics or even Roman Catholics. The catholic church in Judea meant the universal church but not a specific denomination. The Bible never called people to be members of a various denomination nor did Peter call his flock as Catholics or Roman Catholics. While the term born again Christian is mocked yet they couldn't prove anywhere that Christians are to be called Catholics. Even Peter didn't say in 1 Peter 4:16 that if any man suffer as a Christian and not if any man suffer a a Catholic. Catholic will always be an adjective not the name of any denomination when the Greek uses it to describe the Church that Jesus founded last 33 A.D. which was not even founded in the Vatican.

If there is one thing I would dare say that the Roman Catholic institution is the Great Whore of Revelation 17-18. She pretends to be a Christian church. She is dressed in purple and scarlet imitating the high priest's outfit. She uses the Old Testament priesthood to justify her erroneous priesthood. Her priests aren't the priests of the Bible. Her golden cup is full of the lies. She has been drunk with the blood of the martyrs. Many great theologians in the past have agreed that the Roman Catholic institution is Babylon the Great aside from agreeing that the Pope is Antichrist. How can the true Church agree with such errors in Romanism or any of the pseudo-Christian cults when it has upheld the Bible? How can the true Church even think of banning Bible reading?

Right now, the cry from Heaven is calling for God's Elect to get out of her.
Revelation 18:4-5
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

The Vatican has already been judged for her blasphemy. But as the Calvinist says that God is calling His Elect out of her. He's calling His people out of her. He's calling His people out of her. This is the power of God to call the Elect out of Babylon. Come out of her now if you are truly people of God!
